Aeroflot Group carried 26 million passengers in the first half of 2026, up 0.3% year on year, with international traffic growing 10.3% to 6.9 million while domestic traffic declined 2.9% to 19.1 million, Interfax reported on July 14, 2026. Seat occupancy improved by 1.7 percentage points to 90.9% as passenger turnover grew faster than capacity, but June traffic fell 4.3% to 5.1 million amid temporary flight restrictions and a redeployment of capacity from short routes to longer ones. For the full year the group plans to carry at least the 2025 level of 55.3 million passengers and to post a positive financial result.

MOSCOW, July 14, 2026 — Aeroflot Group, which comprises the Aeroflot, Pobeda and Rossiya airlines, carried 26 million passengers in January-June 2026, 0.3% more than in the same period a year earlier. The half-year result combined two opposite directions: domestic traffic declined 2.9%, to 19.1 million passengers, while international traffic grew 10.3%, to 6.9 million. Passenger turnover increased 5.1% against a 3.1% rise in capacity, and seat occupancy improved by 1.7 percentage points, to 90.9%. June: temporary restrictions and capacity redeployment

The June result moved in the opposite direction to the half-year trend. Group passenger traffic fell 4.3% year on year, to 5.1 million passengers: domestic carriage declined 9.1%, to 3.8 million, while international carriage grew 13.9%, to 1.3 million. The company attributed the decrease to temporary flight restrictions introduced in the "Kover" ("Carpet") regime and to the reconfiguration of the route network, under which capacity was moved from short routes, such as Moscow - St Petersburg, to longer ones. Even so, passenger turnover for the month grew 0.9% with capacity unchanged, and seat occupancy rose 0.8 percentage points, to 90.6%; on international routes occupancy reached 91.5%, up 2.6 percentage points.

The Aeroflot airline in June

At the level of the parent airline, the June picture was similar in direction but sharper on the domestic side. Aeroflot carried 2.6 million passengers in June, 4.8% fewer than a year earlier. Domestic traffic fell 14.9%, to 1.7 million passengers, while international traffic grew 19%, to 976 thousand. Passenger turnover of the airline increased 2.4% against a 1.4% capacity increase, and seat occupancy improved by 0.9 percentage points, to 90.3%.

The 2026 plan and the ownership structure

Looking beyond the half-year, the group keeps its full-year guidance: to carry at least the 2025 level of 55.3 million passengers and to achieve a positive financial result. The group's three airlines — Aeroflot, Pobeda and Rossiya — operate under an ownership structure in which the state holds 73.8% of Aeroflot's shares, treasury shares account for 1.2%, the management holds 0.0001%, and shares in free circulation on the Moscow Exchange stand at 25%.
